This section of the blog is all about mental and spiritual health! There will be information on the benefits of meditation, the personal reasons I started meditating, and even guided meditations lead by yours truly! If you have any questions about meditation, or suggestions on what you want me to talk about please feel free to contact me using the form below.
PS: A really good FREE Meditation app that I use is called "Insight Timer." Try it out and let me know what you think!
I've talked a bunch about meditation and its many benefits and I even have 2 guided meditations uploaded on this website. But maybe, just maybe, you don’t like the sound of my soothing and relaxing voice and you would rather try meditating on your own. If that's the case or you're just here to learn about the different types of meditation that you could potentially perform, but never will, just so you can impress your friends on your next Zoom meeting, then you're going to enjoy this!
Are you a morning person or a night person? Do you value sleep quality or starting your day off on the right foot more? Do you shower in the morning? The evening? Maybe, midday? How about meditation, when do you meditate? This blog posts takes a look at the age old question of "is it better to shower in the morning or the evening?" And, since it is a meditation blog post, it will ask the same question for meditation as well. If you're interested in reading about the pros and cons of showering and meditating in the morning, when you wake up, versus the evening right before you go to bed, click Read Now!
As college students, we don't sleep very often. Whether it be late nights of studying, hanging out with friends, working out, or whatever else you may be doing late at night, we seem to have a difficult time getting the 6-7 hours of recommended sleep a night. But luckily studies have shown that the quality of sleep is actually more important than the quantity. And, meditation has been shown to improve the quality of sleep. Wanna learn how? Isn't it cool how technology watches our every move and knows exactly what we’re doing all the time? For example, my meditation app (Insight Timer) informed me a while ago that I have now been meditating for one-year! Glad to know someone’s keeping tabs on me. I just wanted to take some time and share with you guys what I’ve learned over my one year of meditation. Maybe I can provide a new insight or shine a light on a benefit that you may not have thought of before. Click "Read Now!" to find out more!
Season 1, Meditation of Squawking with Seagull: LIVE Guided Meditation (Recording)
This blog post goes over what a panic attack is, along with the differences between panic attacks and anxiety attacks. It then describes 2 breathing meditation techniques that can help combat the physical effects of both panic and anxiety attacks. Please please please remember that you are not alone in your fight with anxiety, panic attacks, or similar issues, so don’t be afraid to reach out to your friends, loved ones, or professionals if you ever need someone to talk to or are just looking for help. It does not make you any weaker to ask for help, in fact I believe it is one of the strongest things you can do. Even stronger than benching 4 plates!!
As college students, we are extremely busy and maybe we don’t have time to sit in our rooms for 5-10 minutes a day and meditate. Maybe we need to squeeze in a meditation on the morning commute or in between walking from class to class. So now you’re looking for a way to meditate in public without people knowing that you’re meditating. Well you've come to the right place, click "Read Now," to find out about public meditation!
Have you ever felt stressed, anxious, tired, slow, or like your life was out of your control? We all feel stressed and anxious at times. We’re only human after all. It’s normal! Now I’m not going to make some bullshit claim that meditation will cure you of your anxiety and solve all your problems, but I am here to tell you it will help! And hopefully I’ll be able to convince you to start meditating.
Okay, so you came to my blog to find some tips on eating and working out but now there’s this other, unexpected section called “meh·duh·tay-shun.” What a strange and foreign word it is! In this blog post, I will explain what meditation is, where it came from, and how to do it!
It would be so awkward if your friend read the newest blog before you! Don't let that happen. Sign up for email alerts and get notified as soon as a new blog is up!
A special thank you to all my friends and family who have not only supported me on my journey but have helped along the way. None of this would be possible without them. Remember to take time to appreciate those in your lives!
